Learning to save: Life Support Hub beside the students of Agios Dimitrios

We were glad to complete a special educational activity of Life Support Hub, in cooperation with the 4th Primary Education Directorate of Athens. On 13 and 28 November, all the students of the 13th and 21st Primary Schools of Agios Dimitrios had the chance to learn valuable lessons of life.

The activity took place at the request of the schools' Principals. Its aim was for the children to become familiar with health and safety issues, becoming little "superheroes" with the help of Savvy, our own hero.

For the youngest, the 1st and 2nd Grades, the lesson focused on health education, with an emphasis on proper nutrition and road safety. They also learned the number 112 and when to call it, as well as how to deal with minor injuries with simple steps.

From the 3rd to the 6th Grade, the older children attended a complete First Aid seminar. The instructors of Life Support Hub passed on their knowledge in a simple and interactive way, giving the students the means to be able to offer help in a difficult moment.

The presence of the teachers throughout was invaluable, as it reinforced the children's participation and the connection of the new knowledge with school daily life.

The best reward came at the end: the young students captured what they had learned in drawings on the theme of first aid. Their work was full of colour and smiles, showing how well they understood what it means to be ready to help.

Life Support Hub continues its work with the same passion, believing that training children in First Aid is the most important investment for a safer future.
