Basic Life Support (BLS) seminar for Olympic and national champions of ASAED

Even the world's top athletes need life-saving knowledge. Life Support Hub was glad to train the officers and athletes of ASAED (the Supreme Council of Sports of the Armed Forces), who train at the sports facilities of the Pentagon, in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Among the participants were Olympic, world and national champions. People used to pushing their limits, who wanted to acquire a different skill as well: the ability to keep someone alive until help arrives.
During the seminar, participants were trained in recognising cardiac arrest, in the correct performance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and in the safe use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). We worked on a manikin, with realistic practice, so that the moves become automatic.
In a sports setting, where intense physical effort is part of daily life, having trained people who know how to react is an essential safeguard. We thank ASAED for its trust and the athletes for their participation and interest.
