Knowledge is power: a special meeting with our teachers

Knowledge is power: a special meeting with our teachers

On the afternoon of Wednesday 3 December, the heart of the school community beat a little stronger and with more confidence. Life Support Hub had the honour of being among people who care for our future every day: the teachers and school nurses of the 4th Primary Education Directorate of Athens.

When responsibility meets readiness

More than 150 teachers and health professionals answered the call of the Director of the 4th Primary Education Directorate, filling the hall with a willingness to learn and to give. Our aim was not a formal presentation, but a real strengthening of the people who are on the front line inside our schools.

The training was designed specifically for the needs of school settings. We discussed, answered questions and practised on scenarios that a teacher might face in their daily routine. From first aid in the playground to the calm handling of an emergency in the classroom, the goal was one: for every teacher to feel ready to save a life.

The power of cooperation

Such a large and successful event never happens by chance. We want to say a big thank you to Mrs Dimitra Bekatorou, Health Education Officer of the 4th Directorate. Her dedication and the flawless organisation on the part of the Directorate were the foundation on which this activity was built.

A commitment to the future

Leaving that afternoon, the gain was not only the knowledge we shared. It was the sense of safety our teachers took with them. Life Support Hub warmly thanks every participant for their commitment to a culture of prevention.

We continue together, because the safety of our children starts with the training of their own heroes: their teachers.
